Codswallop : our first runner of the 2022 turf season

Our first runner of the season is set to race at Southwell on April 1st

Codswallop

Three-year-old Codswallop will be our first runner of the season

CODSWALLOP, a 3YO gelding trained by the in-form Adam West, based in Epsom, will have his opening run of the 2022 season at Southwell. He also represents our first runner of the 2022 summer turf season.

This 3YO had a couple of interesting runs as a 2YO, most notably when running at Newbury in a hot seven furlong contest when chasing home some very tasty types. Bought privately this winter, the Outstrip gelding will face 12 rivals over a mile on the All-Weather surface at Southwell on Friday 1st April (race time 5-40pm) and be ridden by Graham Lee. And we can guarantee that this isn't an April Fool!

Adam West sees this race as a pipe-opener for the season, although we're hopeful the gelding will be making his presence felt on his seasonal debut. It will also mean the young horse gets a handicap mark (it's his third run). The race looks to be a hot one, with a couple of very expensive horses contesting the race, but that doesn't scare us, Codswallop will do his best and come on for this run. You can view the race on the Racing Post

We still have some small shares left in the gelding, and we have a good deal on 4% leased private service shares as well.

UPDATE 31st March 4:04pm - Shares in Codswallop for 2022 have just SOLD OUT.
