Second win in the 2023 season for this consistent filly

Daisy Roots shows the opposition at Lingfield a clean pair of heels

Daisy makes every post a winning one at Lingfield

Over in America with his stable star Live In The Dream, trainer Adam West was still texting owners from Keenland after Daisy Roots led throughout to make it two wins and five placed runs in 2023.

Adam stated afterwards, 'I had to watch the race on my phone, but it looked like she was never really in doubt, even when she was challenged in the final few strides. This has been her year, and the way she won today, I could see her going in again before we pull up the stumps on this years campaign.'

The Racing Post said of this run: "DAISY ROOTS, repeatedly in the money of late over a variety of trips, responded positively to the addition of first-time cheekpieces and avenged last month's neck defeat at Chelmsford off 1lb higher. A winner over a mile on soft ground at Ffos Las off a mark of 50 in July, she'll have the option of dropping back to 7f or going back up to 1m2f and is a hard horse for the handicapper to deal with."

Callum Shepherd had a point to prove after losing out by a nose in a previous race. He reported that everything went to plan and he felt the win was never in doubt.

Given the filly emerged from the race in good order, we will now wait for her reassessed handicap mark to be announced before going again to try and make it three wins for the season! Understandably, her shareholders are cock-a-hoop!
