Kaaress picks up where she left off last season - with another win

3YO picks up her first win on turf with battling performance

Kaaress

Kaaress ridden to perfection to lift £10k Redcar race

The bookmakers made Kaaress the outsider in the last race at Redcar on May 2nd, but Ownaracehorse shareholders knew better! The filly hadn't won on turf, but the combination of a longer trip and soft ground saw Kaaress out-battle a previous winner to lift her fourth career win. Trainer Ollie Pears was delighted with the result, which means the filly is flexible both on trip and types of ground.

Jockey Harry Russell said afterwards, 'We lost ground at the start, but I managed to get her on the heels of the leaders without having to resort to pushing her too hard. After that, it was hands and heels all the way. She stayed on well in the closing stages and will probably get further than this 10f in time.

Ollie Pears was delighted with the result, saying, 'I imagine the handicapper won't punish her too much for that win and we can do the same again in a couple of weeks time. She's an honest, improving racehorse who could rise to anything this season.'

We can expect to see Kaaress running in another middle-distance handicap in a few weeks time. Only a few one-percent shares in this lovely, game filly are left for for 2024 season, so be quick! - View her shares.
